Within my work, images of weeds symbolize women’s strength and resilience. In this collection specifically, I focus on the floral imagery and repetitions of patterns prevalent in weeds. The phrase, anonymous was a woman, often comes to mind when I create. Within this collection, I continue to bring awareness to women’s history in both art and design. Finally, by incorporating women’s work into the series by repurposing old linens, dying them, and sewing them into the quilts and collages, I give recognition to the past.

I created most of this collection in 2009.
